WILLOWBY HILL WINTER SHOW

Today we left the yard with a new lorry load of ponies and horses that all would be entering the ring for the first time with us. First in was Heather Deagen riding her Connemara Ballyard Silver Prince, this was Heather and Prince’s first affiliated show so they did superbly to come second in the novice and win the Open (which was probably the biggest class of the day) and pick up all their winter champs tickets. Well done! Next was Henrietta Nielson on her novice 128cm Show pony Haighend Star Attraction who was bought as a yearling and has been waiting in the wings ever since. Ellie was such a good girl and behaved impeccably to be placed 2nd qualifying for the winter champs, hopefully next time Hetty will be a bit more confident and ride for 1st place as she was a little jittery today! Next in was Kirsty on the very recently bought unlimited her new INT SHP / Riding horse who has only competed locally in the show ring a couple of times with his previous owner Jane Woods. He won his class and went like a gentleman so the decision was made not to put him in the championship as it was now dark and past his tea time so we thought we would leave his first experience of showing as a pleasant one! Finally in the second to last class of the day was Alex riding Moira Finlayson’s new novice SRT Lemington Dance Night, who were second after a novice start but Diva redeemed herself with a lovely show and also picked up her Winter Champs qualification.
